Foundational Herbalism Series

It can feel overwhelming trying to navigate a topic you're passionate about. That's why we created a month long immersion program on herbalism and preventative medicine! This course is designed to provide a clinical, traditional, historical, and hands-on approach to exploring all things herbalism. Each week, participants will dive into assorted foundational topics and activities through lecture, presentations, homework assignments, and DIY demos. By the end of the course, participants will have received a sensory immersive experience on foundational concepts, plant profiles, botanical remedies & how to make them, clinical and traditional vernacular, how to grow & cultivate herbs, the functions of specific herbal remedies as well as how to properly administer them, and more.

This class serves two functions by providing participants with their own roadmap and guide to herbalism and holistic medicine, as well as cultivating a deep sense of community and support. Participants will receive lecture notes & materials each week, as well as supplemental information via email and a class facebook group, where individuals can interact and share their experiences of the content presented throughout weeks. This month long course will be held each Wednesday, and is intended for individuals who are looking to feel empowered and guided as we implement clinical herbal practices each week - with the intent of forming into daily habits! Join us for this full, fun, and immersive month long course, and be prepared to look at medicine, your body, and health in a radically new way!

Herbalism & Self Care Intensive Workshop

We live in fast-paced, potent, and politically charged times, and it's no wonder why our bodies are constantly feeling under duress!  This Herbal Intensive workshop is specifically designed to provide tools from a holistic and systems-thinking perspective on health and well-being.  Through a restorative lens, we will dive deep into the world of herbalism and holistic medicine, bridging rootsy and traditional herbalism with the science of the stress response cycles that occur in the body, and how to heal them.  This class will also focus on embodying the wild feminine or masculine, a process deeply founded upon empowerment and standing within one's sovereignty through visceral self care practices, restorative activism, and botanical remedies to facilitate that process.

Individuals will walk away with a brief overview of Global Herbal Traditions, stress response cycles within the body and nervous system, herbal terminology, knowledge on local common "weeds" and medicines, botanical remedies to facilitate a smooth transition between seasons and to feel empowered and supported during big life changes and transitions.  Once acquiring a cursory overview of herbalism and the body, we will explore ways to create your very own DIY herbal remedies at home, as well as touching on ethical planting and harvesting practices from a grower's perspective.

This class is meant to provide to a crash course on herbalism, methodologies, how stress and anxiety play out within the body and how to heal starting from the inside out!  Self Empowerment and embracing our inner wild hearts will guide us through the intensive, showing the intimate relationship between our inner selves and the surrounding living environment.  Come join us and embrace a radical, and empowered perspective on your health and well being as we step into spring!

Due to spacing, we are only able to accept 35 people for this workshop.  To reserve your spot, please go to www.wearemissionyoga.com/event, we are so excited for you to join us for such a juicy event!
